The phrase “leadership support” has become a cliché in discussing safety. We often hear about the importance of leadership support and “walking the talk” yet we do not tend to specify what the means or how we get there. In addition, leaders often believe they support safety improvement initiatives and are perplexed to hear requests for more leadership support. They struggle to identify exactly what they should do to show support for safety. Research shows the importance of employees seeing their leaders taking visible actions to improve safety but what are those critical leadership behaviors?
Visible Safety Leadership® is an approach to strengthening the frequency of actions taken by leaders to help ensure they demonstrate leadership’s commitment to safety. This workshop will provide a framework for analyzing and defining leadership behaviors at every level of the organization, leadership behaviors that are critical to supporting the safety of employees at home and at work.
