Behavioral Ergonomics Workshops and Implementation Services

How will our ergonomic services benefit your organization?

Quality Safety Edge (QSE) will help ensure your organization takes the right approach to ergonomics. Implementing our successful ergonomics program will:

Reduce Injury Rates:

  • One-third of all work-related lost workday cases in the U.S. involve musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
  • Successful ergonomic programs effectively reduce MSD injury rates an average of 67% following implementation.

Keep Workers Productive and On the Job:

  • Employees who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome are away from work a median of 25 days, more than for fractures and amputations.
  • Successful ergonomic programs effectively reduce MSD lost workday cases an average of 74% annually.

Lower Costs:

  • The average worker's compensation claim involving upper extremity and lower back musculoskeletal disorders is double the cost of non-MSD claims (over $8,000 per MSD incident compared to about $4,000 for other incidents).
  • Successful ergonomic programs effectively reduce workers' compensation costs an average of 71% annually.

Increase Employee Ownership, Productivity and Quality:

QSE will show you how to:

  • Achieve and sustain a high level of employee involvement – a critical element for successful ergonomics initiatives.
  • Leverage the power of ergonomics and employee involvement to not only reduce injuries but improve productivity and quality as well.

How does your company know it is ready to address ergonomics issues?

Your organization is ready for QSE assistance if:

  • Management recognizes the need and has a desire to reduce injury rates, lost workdays, and costs; while improving quality and productivity.
  • Management supports a culture that encourages employee-involvement in the safety process.

  • Behavioral Safety and Ergonomics in the Office
Leverage the power of both ergonomics and behavioral safety in the implementation of an employee-led process for reducing both musculoskeletal disorders and other common types of injuries in the office environment. Organizations with personnel performing tasks such as word processing, data entry, drafting, secretarial duties, communications, customer service, clerical duties, and related services are outstanding candidates for this process.
QSE services include selection and training the implementation team. Training includes the fundamentals of office ergonomics, prevention of other office hazards, and behavioral-safety techniques. The QSE consultant will assist the team in developing a list of critical work practices and conditions that must be maintained to ensure an office environment free from disorders to the back, wrists, shoulders, and neck, as well as injuries resulting from other common incidents such as slips, trips, falls, and pinch-points. The consultant will assist the team in developing observation, feedback, and coaching techniques for shaping improved work habits throughout the organization and for maintaining other conditions necessary for a safe office environment. Implementation of this process typically requires 3 to 5 days depending upon the scope.
